Community-trust rubric
- Roots. Years living in the state or district, and what they did there before running.
- Money. Share of donations from in-state donors and small-dollar donors versus PACs and out-of-state money.
- Local endorsements. County clerks, local unions, local papers and civic groups, rather than national organizations.
- Record versus promises. Votes, rulings, audits or office performance compared with campaign claims, plus conflicts of interest.
- Election stance. Public statements on certifying results, voter-roll maintenance, hand counts and the 2020 election.
- Local press over time. How reporters who cover them regularly describe their work, not just this campaign.
Where to check each point
